The research group of the Hellenic Endocrine Network actively participated at the very successful 2025 Annual Meeting of the Endocrine Society (ENDO 2025), which took place in San Francisco, CA, USA on July 12-15, 2025. ENDO is the largest international event in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism and in this year's proceedings included the attendance in person of our entire Board and several of our members
Most of our members presented their research works in the form of poster presentations, while our President Dr. Angelopoulos and our Treasurer Dr. Paparodis were honored to present a short oral presentation each (Rapid Fire Presentations). Dr. Paparodis' project titled "The Effect of Preexisting Diabetes on the Risk and Features of Thyroid Cancer in Patients Undergoing Thyroidectomy: An International Multicentric Study." won the "Poster Highlights and Tour Competition". Among our presentations, several have been designed entirely by the Hellenic Endocrine Network research group and have been completed in Greece.
Great interest was generated among the congress' attendees during most of our presentations, while our members had the chance to meet and collaborate with Greek scientists of the US diaspora, other colleagues from all over the world, patients advocacy groups representatives, representatives of international biomedical and research societies and pharma exhibitors. The medical journalists covering the meeting exhibited great interest in our work as well, and extensive presentations are expected in the coming weeks. Our successful presence in charming San Francisco included a night sea cruise of the city and its surroundings, a visit to San Francisco Museum of Modern Arts (SFMOMA), and several quiet dining events after the meeting's proceedings.
We are grateful to the ENDO 2025 organizing committee and its chair Dr. Niki Karavitaki, for the phenomenal hospitality and the chance to present our work in this prestigious global Endocrine event. Hope to see you next year in Chicago!
